Spreeglanz offers three talented designers from all over Europe a home in Berlin with free board and lodging for a year: a place where they can evolve, try out new things and produce out-of-the-ordinary creations. Selected by a jury, they live, work and write in a collective studio which at the same time represents the Spreeglanz brand. A brand in change as the designers change every year. The final participants in the Spreeglanz residential programme are chosen in a pan-European contest among universities, colleges and design academies. The contest is aimed not only at design students, but also at ambitious lay persons and artists.
The Participants share the same high quality standards regarding conception and craftsmanship, while embarking enthusiastically in search of innovative solutions.
 Spreeglanz’s bold approach to the new expresses itself in unusual combinations of materials and techniques and in the successful balancing act between abstract and mass adapted creations, closing the gap between artistic risk and professional production. At the end of the year, the participants exhibit their first collection, made for people with personality and indifferent to trends. Whoever wears this jewellery becomes part of the story.
